Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense essential oil is extracted from the resin of the Boswellia tree bark. Historically, the oil derives from the African and Arabian regions, but was traded to the Mediterranean, India, and China for thousands of years. The slightly yellow clear liquid has been revered in the Middle East and used in religious ceremonies throughout the years. Frankincense is one of the best oils for health and is known for comforting properties in aromatherapy. On the skin, it promotes healthy cell regeneration and keeps the skin strong and tight.
Frankincense essential oil is used as an antiseptic, astringent, carminative, digestive, diuretic, sedative, tonic and expectorant. It helps fight bacterial and fungal infections and helps rejuvenate aging skin. The anti- inflammatory properties works great for joint pain and arthritis. As an astringent, it helps strengthen gums and hair, stops wounds from bleeding, and expedites healing of cuts, acne, insect bites and boils. The rich, woody, and earthy scent provided by the oil is often used in meditation.
