FAQ

What does cosmetic grade mean?

The FDA defines cosmetic grade products as “articles intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkle, or sprayed on, introduced into, or otherwise applied to the human body or any part thereof for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance…” All our products are cosmetic grade meaning it is safe to use independently or as an additive to other cosmetic products. Our products are meant for external use only and are not to be ingested.

Can I use clays on dry skin?

Absolutely! For dry skin, we recommend using the clays primarily as a cleanser and not as a mask. We also recommend softer clays like kaolin rather than harder clays like bentonite! Clays can still be excellent exfoliants of dry skin and can be great for helping eczema and psoriasis. We recommend following up any clay routine with toner and moisterizer.

How hard should I cleanse with the mud?

Not hard at all! In fact, very gently! Many people think that they need to scrub down hard to exfoliate and clean the skin. This not true and it usually ends up damaging the skin more. Use our clays as a mud gently, treating your skin like a new born baby!

How long does delivery take?

Depends on where you live! We are based in New Jersey but all deliveries should arrive within 5 days once sent. (For domestic only)

I want to send in my testimonial for ClearLee products!

Why is the company called ClearLee?

The founders of the company are Joe Lee and David Lee. A friend of theirs suggested the name ClearLee and it just kind of stuck! Joe and David loved the play on words and thought it "ClearLee" represented both the company and their personalities well.
