Magnesium Sulfate

Magnesium sulfate, commonly known as epsom salt, is a time-tested mineral compound with a variety of uses. Being highly water soluble, it commonly used as bath salts to soothe and relax muscle aches, relieve burns and itches, and exfoliate/cleanse the skin.

Stress from both physical and mental work drains the body of magnesium and increases levels of adrenaline. When magnesium sulfate dissolves in the water and is absorbed through the skin, it replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. Magnesium ions also help you relax and reduce irritability by lowering the effects of adrenaline. They create a relaxed feeling, improve sleep and concentration, and help muscles and nerves to function properly. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation.

Research shows that magnesium also increases energy and stamina by encouraging the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
